MOUNTAIN WILDLIFE
					This gallery showcases the wildlife of the mountains in the following 30 photos. These animals are adapted to life in the higher elevations of the western U.S. and many are unique to alpine habitats. While many species are relatively abundant in the Rockies, species like the American pika and white-tailed ptarmigan - residents of the alpine tundra - are more rare and exciting to see up close.
