A GREAT FIRST IMPRESSION
In June 2009, we experienced the scenery of northwestern Montana for the first time. Spending five days in the area of Glacier National Park, this quickly became one of the most memorable trips we have ever taken. Since Going-to-the-Sun Road and many trails were still snowbound, the early season visit necessitated more of a sightseeing itinerary near the easy-access lakes of the park. This plan turned out to be the best scenario, as Glacier offers incredible scenery and photogenic lakes along the roadsides. We also had a drastic range of weather, which made visiting the same landmarks repeatedly a unique experience each time. In the end, the stunning landscapes, lack of crowds, abundant wildlife and changing weather combined to leave a great first impression.
