The Rock Cut Trailhead is located on the north side of Highway 34 (Trail Ridge Road) as it travels above
timberline. The parking area is about 13 miles west of Deer Ridge Junction, between Forest Canyon Overlook
and the Alpine Visitor Center. There is roadside parking on both sides of the highway.

From the trailhead, hike the paved path as it travels northeast across the tundra. The Toll Memorial is
located at the top of the northernmost rock outcropping along the trail. There are many interpretive signs
along this trail that describe the alpine tundra environment in detail
.
