the grandeur of Lake Agnes and the short hike are great reasons to visit.

Backcountry camping is prohibited in the Lake Agnes Basin.
The Lake Agnes Trailhead is located in the Colorado State Forest near Cameron Pass, just northwest of
Rocky Mountain National Park. The trailhead is accessed from Colorado Highway 14, about 7 miles east
of the village of Gould, or about 2.5 miles west of Cameron Pass. Turn south off of Highway 14 on to a
marked gravel road to a day-use fee tollbooth. Turn right (south) at the junction about one-half mile from
the highway, and drive the steep road south to the trailhead, about another 1.5 miles. This road is neither
well graded nor well maintained, but is still normally passable for most vehicles in dry, summer conditions.

The Lake Agnes Trail is a short hike on a fairly well-worn trail. The large lake is a common destination
for anglers, and hikers with leashed pets are also common on this trail.
